This picturesque two-story colonial residence in Ridgefield, CT required a complete exterior restoration prior to an upcoming family gathering. Shaded northern and eastern walls had accumulated heavy green mildew, airborne pollen deposits, and spider nesting under the vinyl lap joints and soffit vents. Furthermore, electrostatic oxidation on the exterior faces of the aluminum gutters had created persistent dark vertical tiger stripes that regular rinsing could not dislodge.
Rather than risking siding distortion, broken window thermal seals, or water intrusion behind siding panels with high pressure, we executed our multi-stage soft washing methodology. Our truck-mounted proportioner blended a biodegradable surfactant solution tailored specifically for vinyl cladding. Working from the foundation upward to prevent streak lines, we coated the entire building envelope with a clinging foam that dwells and dissolves the organic biofilm at its roots.
For the gutter faces, we performed hand-applied oxidation release treatments to gently lift embedded carbon grime without harming the factory enamel finish. Finally, we performed a thorough low-pressure high-volume rinse from the second-story peaks down to the grade. Windows were rinsed streak-free with softened water, perimeter gardens were fully refreshed, and the house regained crisp, bright curb appeal from every street vantage point.
